Connecting Minds, Creating the Future
he World Expo, is the largest international exhibition, designed for all participating nations to showcase their achievements in social, economic and cultural sectors.
The first World Expo was held in 1851 in London, United Kingdom. It was named the “Great Exhibition of the Works of Industry of All Nations”
The idea of the Great Exhibition was of Prince Albert, husband of Queen Victoria. Education, international trade and relations, tourism, art and design where among the sectors benefited in increasing their developing growth.
Since 1928 this convention is held by the “Bureau International des Expositions”, and is held every five years.
Dubai was chosen to be the host the World Expo 2020, where 190 nations will participate for 173 days.
Themed “Connecting Minds, Creating Future”, the Expo 2020 has three sub-themes that will be shown in the different pavilions of the venue:
Opportunity: where solutions for social problems and ideas that can inspire other visitors will be developed
Mobility: Proceed through the past, present and future of movement, from ancient exploration to artificial intelligence.
Sustainability: It is increasingly necessary to find a balance to live between the earth and those who inhabit it, that is why the main idea of this subtopic would be to find alternatives to maintain and preserve it.
The organizers estimate more than 11 million people to attend during the span of 6 months. The Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DTCM) of Dubai, reported more than 15 million international visitors for 2018. Dubai has been preparing to offer and manage additional accommodations and hospitality during the exposition.
This Expo 2020 aspires to create a meaningful legacy that will benefit generations to come, both locally and globally, spanning everything from innovations and architecture to friendships and business opportunities.
